Dear Parents,

Anti-Bullying Survey from the Department of Education

Our school has been selected by the Department of Education to carry out an Anti-Bullying Survey. We are one of fifty other schools in the primary and second level sector in the country that were chosen. I will send more information to parents once the Department sends me the survey.

Sports Day – Sunday 7th May at 2pm

Our School Sports day is on this Sunday 7th May at 2pm on the grounds of St. Mary's BNS. The cost is €15 per family, if you have both boys and girls please only pay once. Parents can pay online via Aladdin in either school up until midnight tonight. Alternatively, parents can pay CASH ONLY AT GATE on the day.

The success of this great day relies on our VOLUNTEERS. If you are available to help, please sign up for a 30-minute slot using this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E044FAEAA29A2F58-sports.

This year we will be running a tuck shop with crisps and bars at 50c and drinks at €1. Cash only. The scouts will be selling teas and coffees. Attached is track order of events. Don't forget your potato and spoon as it is going to be a fantastic family day.

Confirmation

Congrats to our sixth class boys who made their Confirmation last Friday in St. Mary’s Church. The boys were accompanied by Ms. Donovan’s third class singers. Thanks to Mr. Clandillon and Mr. Dineen for all their hard work preparing the boys for this event and to Corinne Bagnall who helped to decorate the Church with their artwork. We are also grateful to our Parents’ Association who provided refreshments in the Parish Centre after the ceremony.

Gerard Martin – National Award in Computer Coding

Congrats to Gerard Martin who has qualified for the National Final of the Scratch Competition. Using his coding skills he designed a scratch game called ‘Pinku and the Dungeon of Destruction’. The finals will be held in the University of Limerick next Wednesday. Congratulations are in order too for his older sister Agnes who is in 3rd year in St. Joseph's College as she has also qualified for the finals. Well done Gerard!
