Dear Parents,
National Children’s Choir – National Basketball Arena last night
We were treated to an amazing performance by our fourth and fifth class boys at the National Children’s Choir in the National Basketball Arena last night. All their practice and effort really paid off with some lyrics in Irish, Latin, Ugandan, Spanish, Italian, Finnish and Slovak. The repertoire included songs by U2, Enya, ABBA, Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. It was a very entertaining evening with Jake Carter as the MC. We are very grateful to Ms. Hunston, Mr. Keegan, Ms. Murray, Ms. Hennessy, Mr. O’Brien, Ms. Quinn, Mr. Lynch, Corinne Bagnall and Anna Dunne for all their hard work in recent weeks and months.
Confirmation – Friday 28th April at 12pm in St. Mary’s Church
Best of luck to our sixth class boys who will make their Confirmation tomorrow at 12pm in St. Mary’s Church. The boys will be accompanied by Ms. Donovan’s third class singers. Thanks to Mr. Clandillon and Mr. Dineen for all their hard work preparing the boys for this event. Many thanks to Corinne Bagnall who has helped to decorate the Church for the big day. We are also grateful to our Parents’ Association who will provide refreshments in the Parish Centre after the ceremony.
The sixth class boys are asked to wear their Confirmation clothes to school on Tuesday 2nd May for their Confirmation photo. Boys who don’t make their Confirmation do not have to wear their uniform either on Tuesday and will be included in the photograph.
St. Mary's Boys’ & Scoil Mhuire Girls’ National Schools' Sports Day – Sunday 7th May at 2pm – Volunteers Needed
Our School Sports day is on Sunday 7th May @2pm on the grounds of St. Mary's Boys’ National School. This is always a great community event in our school calendar and this year should be no exception. Please see attached track order of events for the day.
The success of this great day relies on our VOLUNTEERS. And we need lots, so we’re appealing to all parents to consider helping out at one of the stations that require volunteers for just 30 minutes during the course of the day. If you are available to help, please sign up for a slot using this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E044FAEAA29A2F58-sports.
The cost is €15 per family, if you have both boys and girls only pay once. Parents can pay online via Aladdin in either school up until midnight Thursday 4th May. Please bring a screenshot of the receipt of the online payment to the gate on the day. Alternatively, parents can pay CASH ONLY AT GATE ON DAY. Please have the exact money ready.
Bring your water and sunscreen as it is going to be a fantastic family day!
