Cycle Safety for fifth class starting 6th November for seven weeks
Cycle Safety classes for our fifth class boys will start on Wednesday 6th November. There will be seven sessions and the first session will be done in class. The classes will cost €12 per child and this will be covered by the school due to the donations made to the Parents’ Association (€100/€150).
Fancy Dress and ‘Spooky Trail’ on Friday 25th October
All boys are encouraged to dress up on Friday 25th October. There is no need for families to buy expensive costumes and homemade costumes can be just as good. Our Parents’ Association (PA) plan to organise a ‘Spooky Trail’ on our school grounds. This is one of many events that our PA have organised for the boys and is noted on our calendar of events that was circulated last week. This is yet another event that is covered by the PA donation (€100/€150).
Cultural Awareness
Every Friday we invite boys who have parents from a certain heritage to give a few facts about their country and read a poem in that language over the school intercom. Last week we were delighted to welcome Syed Abdul Hanaan, Ayaan Khan, Hadi Meer and Hamza Imran from sixth class who gave us some interesting facts about Pakistan and read poems in Urdu. We look forward to hearing some interesting facts about the Ukraine on Monday.
Gaelic Football
Hard luck to our Junior football teams who put up a good fight against St. Joseph’s Terenure on Tuesday in Lucan Sarsfields. Our fifth and sixth class footballers played a football blitz in Lucan Sarsfields yesterday. Thanks to all the parents who provided lifts to and from the games.
Thanks to Mr. Shanahan, Mr. Walsh, Ms. Ryan and Mr. O’Brien for training our football teams at lunch break and for organising their fixtures.
Le dea-ghuí,
Dara Burke, Principal.
